Kimberly Ann Costlow

Feb 28, 1964 — Jun 21, 2026

Kimberly Ann Costlow, 62, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on February 28, 1964, to the late Donald and Nancy (Karr) Costlow.

Kimberly was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who was friendly, loyal, intelligent, and quietly generous, and who touched the lives of many. She grew up in Johnstown and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ), where she developed the strong work ethic and fierce determination that would define her for the rest of her life. Nothing was handed to her, everything she earned, she earned herself, and she was proud of that.

Kimberly built a successful career as a software engineer with Emerson, where she was respected for her technical brilliance, her dependability, and her refusal to ever quit on a problem. She held patents for her work, though characteristically, she rarely spoke of them. She took deep pride in what she accomplished, even as she kept it close to the vest.

Outside of work, Kimberly had a special love for animals and found great joy in the companionship of her pets, who were family to her. She cherished bowling and her bowling friends, and above all she treasured time with the people she loved, through gatherings, celebrations, and the ordinary everyday moments that meant the most.

Her greatest devotion was to her family. She was a steadfast presence in her sister Catherine's life, her protector, her constant, and the person who helped raise her. To her nieces, Nancy Rose and Hattie Belle, she was simply "Auntie": the one who never missed a moment, and who loved them without condition.

Those who knew Kimberly will remember her steadiness, her loyalty, and her unwavering love for the people and animals she held dear. She did not perform her affection or wear it on her sleeve, but those who earned their way in knew the depth of it. Her legacy of strength and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Kimberly is survived by her sister, Catherine (Cat) Delien; her brother-in-law, Ray Delien; her brother, Mike Costlow; and her nieces, Nancy Rose and Hattie Belle Delien. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Nancy Costlow.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 2–4 p.m. and 6–8 p.m. at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., PA 15220 (412-563-2800).
