Kevin A. McCarl

June 25, 1956 — August 8, 2024

Squirrel Hill

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of our beloved husband and father, Kevin Arlington McCarl of Squirrel Hill who left us on August 8, 2024 at the age of 68 following a long courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded at home by his loving family in his final moments.

Kevin left behind a legacy of kindness, laughter and resilience. He will always have a special place in the hearts of those who knew him. His lively laugh, loyal support, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met. One cannot emphasize this enough, everywhere he went, he had a way of making everyone feel important, appreciated and cheerful. Whether it was at work or sharing glasses of wine and meals over thoughtful conversation, he inspired and delighted everyone.

Kevin's commitment and influence on his community were demonstrated daily. Kevin, who carried on the McCarl's Services family business, started his career with a strong academic background, having graduated from Brown University, Harvard Business School, and Blackhawk High School. His position on the boards of several organizations, such as the McCarl Family Foundation, Heritage Valley Health System, Tri-State OBGYN, and the Mechanical Contractors Association, proves his dedication to advocating for public good. He also presided over United Way Beaver County as its president. In addition, he showcased even greater leadership as the Chairman of both the McGuire Memorial Foundation, as well as the Local 47 Health, Welfare, and Pension funds. In 2010, the Mental Association of Beaver County recognized and honored his ongoing support of individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities.

Kevin's passing was preceded by his parents, Foster and Muriel McCarl. Kevin's family was the cornerstone of his life, surpassing all of his achievements. His spirit lives on through his beloved wife, Tammy, who exemplifies true commitment with her unwavering love and support as well as his six children, Jaclyn, Michael, Jessica, Stephanie, Veronika, and Ksenia, who each reflect his essence in their own unique ways; his nine grandchildren, Coltin, Madyson, Morgan, Grayson, Liam, Oliver, Sophie, Ruby, and Cooper, who will grow up hearing stories of his remarkable life; three devoted brothers, F. James, Brian and Shawn; numerous nephews and nieces with whom he shared countless cherished memories, and Sharon Snyder, a dear friend and mother of Tammy McCarl. His absence leaves a void in our hearts and his enduring spirit will always be remembered.

A private religious service will take place and a celebration of Kevin's life is to be announced at a later date..
