Kenneth P. Patterson
Age 89 of Rosslyn Farms, on Friday, May 13, 2016. Beloved husband of Rose Marie Patterson. Born in Pittsburgh on July 25, 1926 to Edwin M. and Emma D. Patterson. Brother of the late Eleanor Patterson. Preceded in death by Eileen Longo Patterson, Raymond Dombroski, and Derek Kotecki. Survived by nephew Bruce (Linda) Rowland of Redlands, CA; niece Valerie (Robert) Kelly of Middleburg, VA; grandnephew David Rowland of Norris, TN; grandniece Karen Rowland of Nashville, TN, brothers-in law Richard Kotecki of Lower Burrell, Leonard Dombroski of Sarver, and Charles Scholl of Advance, NC; and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Kotecki, Joyce Dombroski, Sandra Scholl; and several nieces and nephews.
Served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II. Following discharge in 1946, he entered the University of Pittsburgh School of Business Administration under the GI Bill. He retired from Technical Coatings Co. (part of the Benjamin Moore Co.) after 37 years of service, where he achieved the office of President. He was an officer and director of the University Club, and a 52 year member of his beloved Chartiers Country Club where he was a Past President, and twice served on the Board of Directors. He was the longest tenured golf member.
Ken was a music historian who enjoyed his vast collection of recorded music of the 1930's, 1940's, and 1950's. His music library was devoted to the background and personal information about the leaders and the men and women who played music. His extensive knowledge about the Big Band Era and local Pittsburgh musicians was sought after by many people.
