Judith Kay Allison Kalakos , lovingly known as “Judy” was born on June 29, 1944, to Mary Boreland Allison and Robert Dinsmore Allison in Indiana, Pennsylvania. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she studied education and pursued her passion for becoming a teacher in Mt. Lebanon School District for many years.
Judith later moved to Pittsburgh, where she taught in the Mt. Lebanon School District. In 1969, she met the love of her life, John Kalakos. They were married on January 23, 1981, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion. They were blessed with one daughter, Kristen.
Judith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Kalakos; her parents, Robert and Mary Allison; her sister, Virginia; her nephew, Jason; her Aunt, Zaf Tsikerdanos and many beloved golden retrievers .
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Kristen; her cherished Golden Retrievers, Crosby and Rooney; many cousins, nieces, nephews; her loving niece Katy Vennare; and her sister-in-law, Fotaine Kalakos.
Family and friends welcome on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd. Scott Twp. 15220. Graveside service on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 am in Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 509 Washington Rd. Pittsburgh 15228. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Golden Retriever Foundation for Canine Cancer Research or DePaul Institute in Shadyside.
