Joseph F. Mammarelli, Sr.
Age 83, of Pittsburgh , returned to his heavenly home December 1, 2017, surrounded by his devoted family. Loving husband of Joanne ; beloved father of Joseph (Martha) Mammarelli, Jr., Mimi (Domenic) DiPaolo, and Angela Mammarelli; cherished Pap to Charles, Victor and Eva Simone and Joseph III and Anthony Mammarelli, and loving brother of Harry Mammarelli. A hard-working entrepreneur , Joe was founder and Chairman of the Board of Alloy Oxygen and Welding Supply Company since 1984. Proud of his Italian heritage, also the founder and chairman of the board of The Pittsburgh Italian Scholarship Fund since 1985. He will fondly be remembered by family and friends for his devotion to SS. Simon and Jude School and Parish, his love of golf, coaching basketball, and all Pittsburgh sports teams, his beloved cigars, his loyal and fun-loving friendship, his joviality and generosity of spirit, his self-taught pastime of tickling the ivories, and his unyielding devotion and love for his family. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
