Joseph M. Gregula, age 78, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Washington, PA., passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. Joseph married Suzanne Duguid on July 8, 1972 and they have remained best friends ever since. Loving father of Joseph J. (Christina) Gregula and Justin M. Gregula. Cherished Pap Pap of Charae, Lukas, Hannah, Sophia and Archer Gregula. Beloved son of the late Joseph P. and Mary (Saflin) Gregula. Loving brother of Diane (Gregula) Joyce. Proud uncle of Jennifer and Julianne. Joseph was an outstanding and beloved 5th grade teacher at Muse Elementary School in the Canon - McMillan School District, receiving the Teacher of the Year Award in 1990. He was a Varsity Baseball player at California University of PA and was known for his outstanding curveball. Joe pitched the only perfect game in school history and was inducted into the Pennsylvania, (Washington/ Greene County) Hall of Fame in 2021. He was an amazing baseball coach for his two sons throughout their childhood and loved his grandchildren more than life. In 1998 he coached his Washington team along with his good friend, John Sacco, to the Pony League World Series championship game against Chinese Taipei. Family and friends welcome Monday, March 31, 2025 from 2-8 pm at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp 15220. Funeral mass on Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at 10:00 am in St. Bernard Church, St. Michael the Archangel Parish. Burial will be private to the family.
