Surrounded by members of his family, 83 year old Joseph P. Bell died peacefully on December 23, 2015, at Family Hospice in Mt. Lebanon, PA. He had been struggling with a number of health problems for the past few years. Born in Pittsburgh in 1932, Mr. Bell graduated from North Catholic High School. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Pennsylvania State University. After serving in the U.S. Army, he worked as a food inspector for the Railroad Perishable Agency. He later served as a purchasing agent for Rockwell International. In 1997, he retired after working for many years as a sales representative for Cordage Paper. Over the years, he was deeply involved in many activities and projects at St. Sylvester Church in Brentwood. He greatly enjoyed traveling with his family, gardening and producing the occasional barrel of homemade wine. Mr. Bell's wife Yvonne (Romano) Bell died in 1992. In 1999, he married Barbara (Previtt) Bell, who survives him. He had four children, Joseph (Lisa) Bell, Jr., Mary Pat (Arthur) DeConciliis, Ralph (Rosalie) Bell and Bernadette (Michael) Reinmund. He is also survived by his three stepchildren, Mark Previtt, Lee Ann (William) Kahanic and Jodi (Greg) Foster; 13 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
