John J. Stankiewicz

Age 86, of Carnegie, lost his long battle with cancer on Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was born March 25, 1931 to the late John and Eleanor (Rusiewski) Stankiewicz. He was proceded in death by son, Johnny Joe Stankiewicz; sister, Eleanor Balint (Russell); nieces, Lori Balint; wife, Jeanne Zaracki Stankiewicz; stepsons, Joseph and John Zaracki. Survivors include niece, Heidi (Balint) Souza (Paul); stepchildren, James and Jerry Zaracki; cousin, Anthony Stankiewicz. John also leaves behind his cherished friend and caregiver, Beth Terranova. John also had many aunts, uncles, and cousins. John served in the Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. he was retired from AK Steel, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed long drives in locating auctions of interest. He made donations to a host of organizations. Some of those donations included sending children to college.
