John J. Repine
Of Rosslyn Farms. peacefully on April 10 2026. Born on March 16, 1947, to the late James and Ruth Repine. Survived by his sister Carole Vas ( Ron ) and his life long partner David Semancheck (mother Enes), nephew Christopher Pellarin (Ashley), niece Lindsey Pellarin Bluming ( Dan ), nephews Justin and David Hall, his beloved Sadie and his ever present cousin Dick Marshall. John "Jack" grew up in Green Tree, attended Saint Margaret of Scotland School and Canevin High School. He served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Pakistan where he served as a cook and said he spent most of his time peeling potatoes. His career began in Kiddyland at West View Park where he and his cousin made cotton candy and popcorn, and culminated in his position as Men's Fashion Director at the Joseph Horne Company. He also worked for Sanitary Tile Company and at Lowes.
After retirement he spent his time creating beautiful gardens with his partner, entertaining friends on the patio, singing with a men's choir, and was an enthusiastic member of the Rosslyn Farms community and garden club. He also had his daily cocktail at precisely 5 pm as prescribed by his Godmother Irene.
Prior to Rosslyn Farms, Jack lived in Crafton, he was a faithful member of St Philip's Church where he regularly attended Mass (unless it was too hot when he'd opt for an air conditioned church elsewhere.) Jack had a strong faith, a love of nature, Lake Erie, and friends and family who loved his subtle sense of humor, his special recipes and his four o'clock nap with his rosary beads. He will be greatly missed by all who enjoyed his delightful company, his sense of fashion, his constancy, and all the ways he made the world more beautiful with his gardens.
Friends and family will be received on Tuesday April 14, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at WILLIAM SATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220 (412-563-2800) Mass of Christian Burial, 10 AM, Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Saint Philip Church Crafton. www.slaterfuneral.com
