John Owen Godshall

John Owen Godshall was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 16th,1944 to George and Grace Godshall (Moyer). John's father was a troubleshooter for the Pennsylvania Railroad and the family moved periodically.

John went to elementary school in Pittsburgh and then the family moved to Cleveland where he attended Collinwood High School.

He returned to Toledo for his Bachelor's degree and then back to Pittsburgh for his Master's. He began his teaching career at CCAC in 1966 where he spent the next 44 years.

John loved photography, clocks, travel and tinkering with electronics. He is survived by his husband Charles Ayers and the many friends who knew and loved him.

A celebration of John's life will be held at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp., 412-563-2800, on May 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM., followed by a luncheon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Michael J.Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or The Parkinson's Foundation of Western Pennsylvania.
