John J. Opferman

Age 86, of Castle Shannon, on Monday, July 18, 2022. Beloved husband of Mary Alice (Boyle) and the late Camilia (Solomon).  Devoted father of Susan Opferman, John J. (Samantha) Opferman, Jr., Camille Opferman, Paul (Allison) Opfermanand Mary Catherine (Ben) Downes.  Dear grandfather of Khalil, Megan, Dylan, Alex, Masan and great grandfather of Rylan, Khalil Jr., Cory, Elias, and Elisandra.  Brother of the late Robert and Thomas Opferman.  John was an Air Force Veteran.  He retired from the Department of Energy where he worked, for 38 years, in the Bureau of Mines with mine safety.  John was very devout in his faith, he loved computers, motorcycles and spending time with his many friends at Eat & Park.  John’s last words were, “God Bless”, which is a true testament to his heart and faith.  Family and friends welcome Wednesday and Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., 15220.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Anne Church, St. Paul of the Cross Parish.  If desired memorial donations to National Kidney Foundation, 620 Montana Dr. Charlotte, NC 28216 or American Parkinson Disease, 135 Parkinson Ave, Staten Island, NY 10305.
