Age 92, on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Beloved husband of Marcella Mary; proud father of Charles, Thomas (Linda), Dennis (the late Anne), Mary (Michael) Ihrig, and Cynthia (Christopher) Pionke; beloved Pap Pap of Lauren (Miles) Kennedy, Melissa (Timothy) Cippel, Michael Ihrig II (Brittany), Brian (Joy) Heald, and Ashlie Heald; great-grandfather of Madeline and Katelyn Heald, Reid and Blake Kennedy, and Ethan Cippel; loving brother of Joseph (Ruth) and the late Marjorie (surviving spouse, Stanley) Kubit, Dorothy (Dale) Anderson, Leo (Lucy), Eleanor, and James (surviving spouse, Adele); loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Mr. McLaughlin was a veteran of WWII, having served in the D-Day Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He coached football for the Homewood Eagles, American Legion Post #351, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH). He coached baseball for American Legion Post #351 and the Bethel Park Baseball Association. Friends welcome Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at FREYVOGEL-SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 112 Fort Couch Rd., Bethel Park (opposite Macy's South Hills Village).
