John J. Masucci

Age 98, of Mt. Washington, peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Preceded in death by his wife, Mafalda Rose; his parents, Angelina and Daniel; his sister, Rosetta; and brothers Frank, Giuseppe, Michael, Louis, Alexander, and Alphonso. He was a very special uncle "Uncle Kinky" to many nieces and nephews. "Kinky" was a veteran of WWII where he served proudly in the US Army. He fought at Normandy and was awarded four Bronze Stars. He enjoyed cooking Italian, loved decorating his house for Christmas, and was well known for growing the most beautiful flowers year after year. He was a regular at the Sunday morning Mass at St. Justin Roman Catholic Church, where he was a lifelong member. Friends welcome Thursday 2-9 p.m. at WM. SLATER & SONS, INC., (412-381-3345) Virginia Avenue and Kearsarge Street, Mt. Washington. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Mount Church, Grandview Avenue on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
