John "Jack" Robert Luke

Age 96 of Carnegie, on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Beloved husband for 59 years of Diane (Finan) Luke. Dear father of John J., Peter A. and the late Elizabeth A. Luke. Loving grandfather of John Henry, Peter J., Margretta and Christian Luke. Brother-in-law of Robert Finan (Barbara), Lynne Cawley (James), Nancy Schwoebel (Joseph), Dr. Marian Finan/Zora (Dr. John), and the late Thomas Finan (Mary). Also, many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. John was an Attorney in private practice and worked with several law firms for 60 years. The Hon. Francis Barry once dubbed him “a lawyer’s Lawyer”, which pleased him to the utmost. He attended St. Rosalia Grade School in Greenfield, a graduate of Central Catholic High School and received his BS & JD from the University of Pittsburgh. He was also a WWII Army Veteran, of which he was very proud. Jack was God loving as he lived his life as a devoted husband and doting father. Jack’s eyes twinkled when he was with family and friends as he so loved them all. Entertaining was a natural for Jack, as he so generously invited hundreds of people to his theme parties and Riverhouse outings. “Grown up kids” still remember his picnics at South Park with ponies, money hunts, egg throws and evening dancing. Jack was known as a great joke teller along with a contagious laugh. We will miss him immensely.
