John "Gipper" Gipko

On Thursday, February 13, 2014, John Edward "Gipper" Gipko, age 77, of Scott Township, passed peacefully of natural causes in one of his favorite destinations, Hollywood, FL, surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Marion Gilardi Gipko; and son of the late John and Pearl Boris Gipko. He is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Buzzelli, Susie Chunn, P.J. (Ellen), and Chris; he was the brother of George (Tracy) Gipko and the late Kim Haliko (Jim), and Judith Pappa; he is also survived by the joys of his life, his eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; in addition, he is survived by his son-in-law, John Busselli, and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was a known basketball enthusiast and was engaged in coaching, running leagues and participation in the former Dapper Dan Roundball Classic.
