Joan R. Kress

Born in Pittsburgh on September 25, 1936, Joan was a life-long educator.  She is survived by her sons, James, Hugh (Ashley) and Nathan Kress; her beloved grandchildren, Miller, Blakeley and Byron Kress; and by many friends whom she also considered to be her family.  Her children would like to especially thank her friends Carol McCracken and Nancy Holmes, who were such supports to her.

Services and interment private. Arrangements entrusted to WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Twp., (412-563-2800). In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift in her honor to the charity of your choice which works to serve those with disabilities or to protect the earth, both of which were causes about which she felt passionate.
