Joan K. (Stevick) Kotewicz, age 88, of Baldwin, passed away on April 10, 2023 at her daughter's Beechview home.
Born March 29, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Joann was the daughter of the late James B. and Eleanor I. (Kilcoyne) Stevick. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Raymond J. Kotewicz, Sr. She is survived by her children Diane (Eric) Ceja of Harrisburg, Susan (Rick) Rusyn of Beechview, and Raymond (Lisa) Kotewicz, Jr. of Elizabeth Twp. She is preceded in death by her son Robert R. Kotewicz. Joann is also survived by her sister Peggy (Steve) Moorman, grandchildren Jason Rusyn, Jared Hoy, Elizabeth Kotewicz, and Raymond Kotewicz III; great-grandchildren Andrew Rusyn, Madelyn Booth, Brianna Price, Jade Chalmers, 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, parents and son, she is preceded in death by her siblings Audrey L. Pottmeyer, Patricia L. Bielawski, James V. Stevick and Mary Ellen Lathan. Family and friends will be received in WM. SLATER & SONS INC. (412-381-3345) 301 Virginia Ave, Mt. Washington 15211 on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 2-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place Monday, April 17, 2023, at 10 AM in Mary, Queen of Pearce Parish, St. Mary of the Mount Church in Mt. Washington with the Rev. Joesph Keenan officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Vianney Cemetery on Brownsville Rd.
Joann retired from South Side Hospital after 29 years of service. She was a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirate fan, and was disappointed to the bitter end.
