In recognition of his multifaceted service, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, several Army Commendation and Army Achievement Medals as well as two Army Superior (redesignated as Meritorious) Civilian Service Awards. Jim was blessed with a loving family which has included relatives and many excellent friends. He had life-long interests as diverse as railroads, model railroading, firearms and reading history, especially military history.
