James R. "Jim" McClimans, 82, went to be with the Lord after a period of declining health and brief battle with Covid-19, on Sunday afternoon, December 20, 2020.
Jim was born June 12, 1938 in Sharon Pennsylvania. He was the only son of the late Georgia I. McClimans and Raymond McClimans of Sharon, Pennsylvania. He was a longtime resident of Scott Township in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
He was a graduate of Hickory High School, and went on to earn both a Bachelors Degree in Education from Thiel College, and a Masters Degree in Education from West Virginia University.
Jim's life was dedicated to teaching. First in Warren, Ohio, and then in the Mount Lebanon, Pennsylvania School District for decades. He was a distinguished teacher and enjoyed friendships with many of his former students who continued to see him for years after his retirement.
Jim enjoyed skiing, and spent time as a Ski Instructor. His home and yard were his absolute pride and joy. He also found interest in interior design, theater, traveling, restaurants, and socializing with friends.
Jim was never blessed with a family of his own, but enjoyed his "own company," best. He was mutually an adopted member of the families of his long time friends Roberta Kozel and Daniel Snyder. He spent his holidays and countless vacations with them.
Proceeded in death by his parents and other relatives, Jim is survived by a countless number of friends and former students who will undoubtedly feel his absence. The warmth of his presence, his beaming smile, and blue eyes that rival Frank Sinatra's, will be remembered and missed by all.
