James Kress, 57, of Collier Township, on June 23 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Cherished son of Nancy (Cole) and the late James A.; beloved husband and best friend of Kimberly (Ruby); true "superhero" father to his three sons Anthony (Kari), Ryan and Michael (Catherine). Jim will be remembered by his adored cousins near and far, mother-in-law Mary Jane (Ken), numerous nieces and nephews, and scores of friends. He was a proud 30-year member of Sprinkler Fitters Local 542, serving five years as Business Manager. Jim's departure from this world will be mourned by many, but his memory will live on — particularly at countless fishing holes, where Jim was feared by all, from the smallest minnow to the largest bass. Jim will forever be known for selflessly giving his time, energy, and love to all who knew him. Family and friends received at William Slater II Funeral Service, 1650 Greentree Road on Wednesday, June 27 from 1–4pm and 5–8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 330 3rd Ave, Carnegie on Thursday, June 28 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
