Age 49, of Pittsburgh, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, after a sudden illness. Beloved husband of Cathy (Kremer) Ellis; son of Ruth Ellen (Ellis) Witkowski and the late James M. Ellis, Sr; loving father of Brady Michael and Ryan James; brother of Carol (William) Taylor and Cyndie (John) Kopie; late step-father John Witkowski; Jim had two great loves. First, his family. Second, fire fighting. Jim was a passionate fire fighter and began his career at the age of 16 as a volunteer in Mars, PA, now known as the Adams Area Fire District. He later served on the Board for this fire company. He then served three years in Wilkinsburg, finishing off his career with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire where he became a well-respected and renowned Captain. He also served 25 years with the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Jim will forever live on in the hearts of his wife, sons, family, friends, as well as all of those he touched throughout his life and career legacy.
