J. Edward Manion, 88, of Scott Twp, son of the late Christina McCaig and Joseph Edward Manion of Carnegie, passed peacefully on Friday, June 24, 2016. Beloved husband of Betty A. (Boyda) Manion. Loving father of Celeste Manion and Renee Barrentine; grandfather of Hunter Manion, Hannah and Ethan Barrentine. Survived also by sister Christina Canales of Philadelphia, brother David Manion of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by brother James Manion of Pittsburgh. Ed was a CLU Division Benefit Sales Manager for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company for 29 years. He graduated from Duquesne University with a degree in Business Administration, and proudly served in the U.S. Navy. Ed had many hobbies. He was an amateur radio operator, hunter, and backyard mechanic. He enjoyed boating, target shooting, fishing and building model airplanes. Ed was a member of the American Legion, the NRA, Collier Sportsmans Club and the Heritage Foundation. There will be no public visitation. Full military graveside honors will be Thursday at 10:30am in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
