Howard Lewis Pastroff, 85, died on March 2, 2024, at home in Lewes, Delaware.

Howard was born on March 7, 1938, to Herman and Mary Pastroff in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in 1960 and then completed his MBA at the University of Michigan in 1962, where he met his wife of over 61 years, Susan Ferber Pastroff.

After serving in the Army, Howard moved to Pittsburgh, where he joined and later owned Leo Ferber & Son, Inc., a wholesale distribution company. He and Susan lived in Squirrel Hill for 10 years, then in Mt. Lebanon for 50 years, and they recently moved to Lewes, Delaware. They also wintered in North Myrtle Beach, SC for the last 15 years.

Howard is survived by Susan and their four children and spouses: Sandy (Lieschen) Pastroff, Linda (Jude) Rosenberg, Karen (Eric) Auslander, and Brian (Nancy) Pastroff. He leaves behind seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Brooke), Amanda, Jonah, Eden, Isabelle, Miles and Sydney, and his great granddaughter Grayson.

Howard cherished every moment with his family, which was the center of his life. He also greatly enjoyed time with his friends, discussing daily events with his buddies at the gym, playing bridge and spending time with his pet poodles. He was also an avid fan and supporter of the University of Michigan.

There will be a graveside service on Friday, March 8th at 10am at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery (509 Washington Road) and the family will also receive friends at the home of Karen and Eric Auslander from 2:00 - 4:00 later that day.
