Henry A. Shozda

Age 92, of South Fayette, formerly of Beechview and Mt. Lebanon, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Beloved husband of the late E. Patricia "Pat" Shozda; loving father of Valerie (Charles) Duplaga and Mark (Janet) Shozda; cherished grandfather of Meredith and Gregory Shozda; brother of the late Helen, Jennie, Florence and Raymond; also survived by three nieces, and four great-nephews. Prior to retirement, Henry was the National Sales Director for the Catholic Knights of St. George. He was a WWII Veteran. In 1943, he volunteered for the United States Merchant Marine and served in the Pacific, Atlantic and Mediterranean Theaters of War. He was a charter member and honorary life member of the Pittsburgh South Hills BPO Elks Lodge #2213. Henry served as Exalted Ruler in 1961 and in 1965 was appointed District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Metropolitan District for Pittsburgh. He was a member of the American Legion, Mt. Lebanon Post #156, where he served as post commander and later as finance officer. He also was a member of the Three Rivers Chapter of the American Merchant Marine Veterans.
