TAYLOR HELEN SOPHIA (DORDAS)
Helen was born first generation Greek to immigrant parents, Andrew A. Dordas and Panagiota Parros who preceded her in death. She grew up in East Liberty/Highland Park area of Pittsburgh and was very proud of her heritage. Helen graduated from Peabody High in 1944. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a B.S. of Science and a Masters of Education. Helen was a proud life time member of the Pitt Alumni Association and was a true Blue Golden Panther. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas S. Taylor II (2015), a veteran of both WWII and Korea war. She was also preceded in death by her brother, George Cleon Dordas. Helen leaves behind her three children, Diane Taylor Pavan (Dennis), Thomas S. Taylor III, Andrew G. Taylor (Christy); and nine grandchildren, Danielle and Andreanna Pavan (Dan), Jennifer Taylor Schwendner (George), Alex Taylor (Jenn), Kelsey Taylor (Vincent), Andrew Taylor (Hannah), Emily Taylor, Zachary Taylor, Natalie Taylor (The Thumb). She also had two great-grandchildren, Peyton Taylor and George Schwendtner IV. Friends welcome Thursday 4-8 and Friday 2-4, 6-8 p.m., FREYVOGEL-SLATER FUNERAL DIRECTORS, (412-835-1860) 112 Fort Couch Rd., Bethel Park 15241 (Opposite Macy's South Hills Village). Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., in Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will be in Schellsburg Cemetery, Schellsburg, PA.
