Helen (Edgar) Rectenwald

In her 96th year, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016. She was the daughter of the late John Edgar and stepmother, Minnie Iams Edgar. Raising her family in Allentown, living in Mt. Washington and later Kennedy Township, Helen most recently resided at Marian Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in Green Tree, PA.
Helen was married to the love of her life, Walter L. Rectenwald for 45 years and they had 5 devoted children. They are Judith Gayton (the late John), Walter Rectenwald, Kathleen Short (Roger) and Karen Baldwin-Most (John). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Helen was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter; their daughter Helen Hill (surviving spouse, David); grandson Jeffrey Hill, and son-in-law Taylor Baldwin and great grandson, Joshua Sager.
The family would like to thank the staff at Marian Manor Green Tree and Family Hospice for their kindness and compassion. She will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews and friends that loved her dearly and whom she dearly loved in return.
Helen and Walter are finally together.
