George J. Nassif Sr.

Of Pittsburgh, age 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023. George is survived, and this is most certainly in his order of preference, by his wife of 54 years, Lorraine; his 9 grandchildren, Jack and Mickey Murphy, Trey, Matthew, Blake and Christian Nassif and Max, Reese, and Ellie Kail; and finally, his children, Abby Murphy (the late Mossie), George (Allison), and Molly Kail (Tony).  George loved anything and everything that had to do with his grandchildren.  He loved school pick-up, where he knew every mom there, and every single sporting event that the kids did.  He loved his Sunday mornings with the boys by himself and was a great babysitter.  Being Papa was his most favorite thing.  George loved the Pirates, but they caused him more stress than anything in the whole world.  There are not words to explain how thankful his family is for the care that George received over the last three months.  From the staff of Mercy 10 to the remarkable caregivers at Asbury Heights Hickory to the angel, Stacey, from Family Hospice, George’s family will always be grateful.

Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 10 AM in Church of the Resurrection, St. Teresa of Kolkata Parish, 1100 Creedmoor Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15226. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH.  Interment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pirates RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) Program via Pirates Charities, 115 Federal Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
