George L. Freas

George L Freas, Jr passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. He was born April 4, 1923, in the Oakland section of Pittsburgh, to the late George and Martha Freas. He was the brother of the late Donald Verner (Vern) Freas, George attended Schenley High School, Westminister College, and the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946 as Lt. Jg. Executive officer, LST 941-S.W. Pacific. After the Navy, George was the district manager for Bell of PA (Bell Atlantic, Verizon) for 33 years. George attended Bower Hill Community Church where he served on several committees. He was the beloved husband of the late Harriet A Smith, whom he married in 1948; remarried to the late Eleanora K May in 1996; loving father of Randall V Freas, Nancy F Holland (Scott), Wendy F Sembrat (Greg), Donald G Freas and Thomas R Freas (Cynthia); also survived by grandchildren, Bradley Holland, Emily Wallace (Brian), Matthew and Megan Freas, Michael (Caity), Christopher and Patrick Freas and Nicholas Sembrat (Morgan); and great-grandchildren, Weston, Evelyn, Vivienne, Wyatt and Madeleine Wallace, Riley Seeney and Harrison Shiflet.
