On Thursday, May 17, 2018, Frank J. Sam, age 67, of Scott Township, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side. Beloved husband of 39 years to Linda Moses Sam; son of Michael and Julia Sam; loving father of Tracy Sam-Wagner, M. Philip Sam, Alex Michael Sam, and Corey Michol Sam; grandfather of Alec Pentz. Frank had the uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way, which he did often as a founding partner and proprietor of Atria's Restaurant & Tavern and Juniper Grill. Through anonymous acts of kindness, Frank assisted and defended many who were less fortunate, offering second chances to those deserving. Frank changed lives. His untiring service to his fellow man was demonstrated by his enthusiasm and commitment to help others, and he loved others selflessly with no expectation of reciprocation. He served those in need, trusted the untrusted, welcomed the unwelcomed, and gave those who never thought possible the opportunity of job to provide for their families. His passion to give to charitable organizations was only overshadowed by his desire to listen, love and provide opportunity to his fellow human. For those who knew him, Frank fostered a lifelong impression of kindness, sincerity, compassion and strength, and his family is honored to carry on his legacy. Preceded in death by his sister Linda McCormick (John), his mother Julia Sam, and his father Michael Joseph Sam. Survived by sister Anita Shahda (Very Rev. Fr. Joseph); Michol Kobylski (Richard), brother in law of Philip (Diane) Moses, Michele (Chahine) Boulos. Also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. He was a father to all. To sum up such an enriching life, a quote from activist and Author Maya Angelou: "If you're going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that cannot be erased."
