FRANK A. ROTONTO, JR.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frank A. Rotonto, Jr., a man of boundless charm, strength, and heart. On April 17, 2026, Frank passed away peacefully in Seattle, Washington, surrounded by his loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer.
Frank was born on April 23, 1942, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Adeline (Lena) Pizzingrilli Rotonto and Frank A. Rotonto, Sr.
A proud Pittsburgher through and through, Frank carried his love for the city with him wherever he went; his unwavering loyalty to the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, & Steelers was sacred. You could find him in his lucky chair, fully invested in the game, cheering, coaching from the living room, and yes, yelling at the TV like they could hear him.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated 25 years of service to Alcosan before retiring in 2008.
Frank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, grandparents and daughter, Hope.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Sandy Rotonto of Pittsburgh, PA; his son, Anthony Rotonto of Leesburg, Virginia; his daughter Melissa Rotonto of Los Angeles, California, and his sister, Adele Williams of Sevierville, Tennessee, as well as his cherished grandchildren Desiree, Jasmine, Ash, Laila, Adam, Giovanni and great-granddaughter Emma. He will also be sorely missed by his sisters-in-law Suzy, Cindy, Karen & Ida, son-in-law Rico Graziano, brothers-in-law Wade, John, and Fakhereddine. His extended family in Pittsburgh and Seattle…
He will be remembered for his humor, his kindness, and his warmth, as he was always ready to share a laugh, or turn any moment into something memorable, be it a story about Vietnam or a casino anecdote!
Sandy, Anthony, and Melissa would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to his extended family in Seattle, and Suzy Wade in particular, for the gentle and compassionate care they provided during Frank’s stay in Seattle. The support that his nephew and caregiver, Ryan Kovacic, provided during the last couple of months of his life was invaluable.
Although he will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his parents, daughter and other family members in Heaven.
We love you. Your presence will forever remain in our hearts.
