Age 94, of Green Tree, passed away in peace, Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Frank was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His beloved wife of 66 years, Una Mary Hess, preceded him in death, as did their cherished daughter Pamela M. (Michael) Dundon.
Frank was a graduate of St. Vincent's Preparatory School and Duquesne University. He served as Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy and Captain of a LCT-A in the first wave of attack at Omaha Beach on D-Day.
In 1959 Frank founded Frank P. Hess and Company, a certified public accounting firm, and also owned and operated Pittsburgh File and Box Company.
Surviving Frank are his three sons, Paul F. (Kathy) Hess of Upper St. Clair, David J. (Sandra) Hess of Robinson Township, and James P. (Deanna) Hess of Upper St. Clair; four grandchildren, Claire (Russell) Giancola, Brian (Kelly) Hess, Matthew (Kelly) Hess, and Lauren Hess; and seven great-grandchildren.
