Eunice M. Nasri

June 14, 1933 — May 1, 2024

Bridgeville

Eunice M. (McConkey) Nasri of Greentree, PA, age 90, died peacefully on May 1, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late William Z. Nasri, who passed away in February 2008. Surviving are her cherished children; Nadine N. Mancini (Jerry) of Brookeville, MD and William P. Nasri (Wendy), who resides in the Netherlands. Eunice was also the proud grandmother of Marisa Mancini, Anna Nasri, Justin Mancini, Alex Nasri, Sarah Nasri, and Liam Nasri. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. McConkey and Zita (Merriman), as well as her three older brothers, Howard, Thomas, and Warren.

Eunice was immensely proud of her more than 50-year career in nursing, including 30 years with St. Clair Hospital, where she began her career as a Staff Nurse and worked her way up through the ranks, ultimately being appointed Director of Nursing. Her legacy at St. Clair Hospital lives on through the many nursing professionals that she guided and mentored during the course of her career. Eunice also established the hospital’s Acute Care Geriatric Unit, which at the time of its creation was the first of its kind in Pittsburgh and only the 15th in the nation.

A strong woman of faith, Eunice also answered the call of missionary outreach, which led her to international assignments in the Middle East in the 1950’s and 1960’s, where she met her beloved late husband, William. Later in life, she traveled with her husband to support reading programs, book distribution, and the opening of libraries in several developing countries in Asia and Eastern Europe with the Brother’s Brother Foundation.

Eunice truly lived life to the fullest, spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren, enjoying annual summer trips to Hilton Head Island, and sight-seeing across both the United States and Europe. Her true calling and passion always remained faith-based services and missionary work, including the creation of an Art Camp for young people on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, which she lovingly supported with her church family for several summers. She also gave back to her community by volunteering and generously supporting a variety of charities and institutions, including the Greentree Public Library, where her late husband served as a member of the Library Board.

Eunice believed in never resting on her laurels and made it a priority to continue her education, even in her later years. She had three degrees, two of which she earned while working full-time and parenting two teenagers - a nursing degree from Montefiore Hospital, a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Point Park University, and a master’s degree in public management from Carnegie Mellon University. Her family and friends will most remember her colorful outfits and matching earrings, usually in her favorite color of purple, and her fondness for red cardinals and monarch butterflies.
