Of Pittsburgh, on Monday, October 23, 2017. Beloved husband of Doretta M. (Lonnett) Whalen; son of the late William and Blanche Whalen; step father of Sonya (Jon) Williams, Jenna (David) Kent, Eve (Marc) Moura; step grandfather of Anthony Kent, Vienna, Maeve, and Wes Moura.
Eugene was a member and usher at S. S. Simon & Jude Church, retired owner of Whalen Graphics (downtown), & retired graphic designer for various Fortune 500 Companies. Proud native of the South Side where he grew up playing basketball for St. Adalbert's. He was a graduate of the U.S. Army Intelligence School and a proud U.S. Army veteran. Friends welcome Thursday 2-8pm, William Slater II Funeral Service (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd, Scott Twp 15220. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00am Friday in S. S. Simon & Jude Church.
