Eileen (Nutt) Todd

87, a resident of Connellsville, PA, Chicago, IL, and Darien, CT, died at Kane Regional-Scott Township, on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. Eileen is survived by her three children: Michael Ozorowski (Marcy), Debbie Halbritter (Bill), and Diane Todd.

Eileen was a fighter: in March, she was given three months to live, but she went on to celebrate her 87th birthday and Mother’s Day.  She was already talking about how she would decorate her room at Kane for Christmas, her favorite holiday.

Eileen could turn a house into a home and was an excellent cook, a talent she inherited from her late mother, Ann E. Kennedy (Franks). She enjoyed traveling, and in her last months, she looked at photos from her many trips and conveyed her gratitude for having such magnificent opportunities.

Eileen loved nice restaurants and good food—from pizza to lobster. She celebrated her 87th birthday with a three-day lobster festival, looked forward to the pizzas her son would bring via “special delivery” from Bud Murphy’s in Connellsville, and devoured the elaborate salads her daughter Debbie made each week.

Eileen was fond of animals, and they knew it. Eileen always traveled with a box of cat food so that she could feed stray cats. Over the years, several stray cats found their way to her, and she took them into her home and lovingly cared for them; theytrusted her implicitly when she tended to their ailments. Dogs were also a special part of Eileen’s life. Snoopy and Timmy, hergranddogs Nick and Guapa, and, more recently, Roxie, all adored her.

Eileen was very grateful for the kindness of her caregivers. In Connellsville, Brigitte provided her with care and companionship in her last months at home.  At Kane, Paula was great company during those late nights when Eileen was adjusting to her new living environment, and she lovingly attended to Eileen in her last hours.

To honor her, a small, private luncheon will be held in Eileen’s hometown.
