Eileen J. Spear Matthew

Age 96, of Pittsburgh, on Tuesday, May 21, 2013. Born June 28, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois. Daughter of the late James F. Spear and Margaret M. Cavanaugh; beloved wife of the late Sidney M. (2004); sister of the late Margaret M. Harding and Chrystal J. Duggan; loving mother of Paul D., James B., Janice L., and William D. Matthew; also survived by daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Eileen lived in Brookline since 1948, but also lived in Egypt and Brazil for short periods and took several trips with her daughter to Ireland. In retirement, Eileen continued to enjoy Outer Banks family reunions and time with family. Arrangements by WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, (412-563-2800), 1650 Greentree Road, Scott Township. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at St. Winifred's Church in Mt. Lebanon. Family will receive friends in the church foyer from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at the cemetery is private. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity in memory of Eileen.
