Edward D. Wintermantel, Jr.

Age 91, of Mount Washington, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.  He is survived by his wife, Ann Curran Wintermantel; daughter, Cristin C. (Chris) Buckley; stepson, Robert Buckley; sister-in-law, Mary Pat Curran; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Edward graduated from Avonworth High School in 1949 and Duquesne University in 1960.  He served in the US Navy 1952-1956 and was a writer/editor for the Pittsburgh Press from 1961-1992.  Family and friends welcome Friday, May 12th 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. WM. SLATER & SONS, INC. (412-381-3345), 301 Virginia Ave., Mt. Washington 15211.  Funeral Mass Saturday, May 13th 10 a.m. in Mary Queen of Peace Parish, St. Mary of the Mount Church.  Burial in Calvary Cemetery will be private to the family.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
