Of Mt. Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 the day before his 74th birthday. Beloved and devoted husband of Midge; father to Anthony (Jill), Lisa (Enzo), Vince (Maria), and Angie (Jon), and Eddie; brother to Carmen and John; loving grandfather to his ten grandchildren Anthony, Maddie, Sophia, Matthew, Antonio, Edward, Ava, Samuel, Adelina, and William. Ed was born in 1942 to the late Eugene and Adelina (Aceti) Villella. His parents, Italian immigrants, raised him and his two brothers in Hazelwood. He attended Central Catholic and financed his education at Wheeling College and St. Louis University School of Medicine by working in the Pittsburgh steel mills through his summer and holiday breaks. He met the love of his life, Midge, in medical school and was married for 46 years. Ed started his practice at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh where he worked for over 40 years as a respected and accomplished General and Vascular Surgeon. Ed was blessed with healing hands and used his gift of compassion to bring comfort to others. Always selfless and giving, Ed devoted himself completely to his family, his patients, his friends and neighbors. He was most happy when surrounded by family and loved ones.
