Edward D. “Cy” Sutilla

Edward “Cy” Sutilla, 88, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 with loved ones at his side. Edward had a fierce love for family and friends, especially Shirley, his wife and partner of 63 years.

Born in Revloc, PA to Walter J. Sr. and Mary (Piatek) Sutilla, he attended Ebensburg-Cambria High School. He was a gifted athlete, playing football for Michigan State University, graduating in 1959. He then earned his Masters Degree at St. Francis University. Edward worked for US Steel and USS Chemical, retiring as Personnel Manager for Aristech Chemical Corp.

Preceded in death by siblings Helen Iffland, Walter Sutilla, Jr., Frances Friday, and Annie DalBello. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. Edward’s love lives on with his wife Shirley (Riley) Sutilla, his daughters Carrie (Douglas) O’Connor, Mary Ann (Paul) Formichella, and grandchildren Sean and Patrick O’Connor and Katherine, Nicholas, and Joseph Formichella.

Edward always made time for golf, Dewey Beach and the Steelers, holding season tickets for over 45 years. The family’s “Pizza King” also unwillingly collected pigs of all shapes and sizes, thanks to Charlotte.

Funeral mass Friday, August 1, 2025, 10:00 am, at St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 310 Mansfield Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15220
