Edward J. Pyszka, Jr., 91, a man of faith and family, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022.  Ed, formerly of LaSalle, Illinois; Florida and Pittsburgh, was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mildred Heilstedt Pyszka.  A Korean War veteran, Ed held a degree in business from Bradley University.  He began his professional career with U.S. Steel and retired from National Steel as the manager of operations, analysis and cost control.  He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Sylvia Szymski Pyszka.  Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf and celebrating Notre Dame football.  He is survived by his children, Karen Pyszka, Bob (Cindy) Pyszka, Nancy (Jim) Joiner, Janet Pyszka; his grandchildren, Sara, Kala, Molly, Michael, Steven; and two great grandchildren.  Ed was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Flossie Pyszka; his brother Gerald Pyszka; his nephew, Stephen Pyszka.  The family would like to thank the staff at Southwestern Veterans Center and H.J. Heinz VA Medical Center for thoughtfulness and dedication.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 22, 2022, 1:00 p.m. in St. Thomas More Church,
Resurrection Parish, 126 Fort Couch Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15241 (Bethel Park).  Inurnment will be at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Woodlands Foundation, c/o Music Camp, Ed Pyszka Memorial, 134 Shenot Road, Wexford, PA 15090.  Arrangements entrusted to Freyvogel-Slater Funeral Directors, Bethel Park.
