Beloved son of the late Andrew and Helen Novotnak; brother of Dorothy "Dottie" (Roy) Nilsen and Albert (Donna) Novotnak; uncle of Alison (Jim) Haley; and great-uncle of Ashley, Drew and Tyler. Ed was a former member of the Upper St. Clair Country Club.
