Edward C. Kasten Sr.

Edward C. Kasten Sr., age 98, of Bethel Park, formerly of Beechview, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Beloved husband of the late Doris Jane (Olsen) Kasten. Loving father of Larry R. Kasten and the late Edward C. Kasten Jr. Beloved brother of the late Ernest F. (Edna Mae) Kasten and Lorraine (Art) Cerminara. Also survived by cherished grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Ed, being a part of  America’s Greatest Generation, served in the US Navy during WWII serving primarily on the Destroyer Escorts, USS Wingfield DE-194 and  USS Smart DE-257 and the Troop Ship, General George M. Randall AP-115. He was awarded the Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Family, Friends and Loved Ones welcome on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp. 15220 where a celebration of life service will be held from 5:00- 6:00 pm.
