Edith Gardy

After many years of declining health, on Friday, July 3, 2015, age 95, went home to be with the Lord and to be united with her beloved husband, Joe. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith (Schuetz) and Howard Ward; brothers, Howard "Junior" and Charles. A lifelong resident of Mt. Washington, graduating the Class of 1937 from South Hills High School, she was a member of Bailey Avenue, Presbyterian Church, and served as Worthy Matron of Adah Chapter #54 O.E.S. Edith and Joe enjoyed 60 years of marriage and worked together at the Plymouth Blind Co. which they founded in 1948. She is survived by son, David (Bernadette) Gardy; daughter, Elizabeth (Jim) Murphy; and four grandchildren, Michele, Christopher, James and Peter; and four great-grandchildren; plus nieces, nephews and many friends who have remained in contact with her during her ten years in the nursing home at Masonic Village of Sewickley.
