Age 99, on Thursday, October 31, 2013. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Katherine Rottensberger; and her husbands, Donald F. Walter and Hubert Thelen; a brother, Elmer Rottensberger; and five sisters, Edith Williams, Martha Sanders, Emma Rottensberger, Teri Aquadro and Ruth Marengo. She is survived by a son, Donald F. Walter, Jr. (Pauline); grandchildren, Carlton Walter (Sheila), Gail Durachko (Daniel), Carol Wallace (Michael), and Kenneth Walter; and eight great-grandchildren, Paul Michael Wallace, John Charles Wallace, Leah Jean Wallace and Kenneth Walter Wallace, Daniel Robert Walter and Adam Michael Walter, Timothy Walter Durachko and Donald James Walter; nephews and great-nieces. Dorothy resided in Pittsburgh for 63 years. She worked at radio station WJAS as a record librarian in the 50s where she met many of the stars of that era. She resided in Seminole, FL for 30 years at The Gardens near most of her siblings and many friends. She returned to Pittsburgh six years ago and enjoyed her friends and the care from the staff at the Devonshire of Mt. Lebanon. Friends are welcome Saturday, November 9, 2013 from 10-12 and 1-4 p.m. at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SVC., (412-563-2800) 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp., where a Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Rd., Pgh., PA 15220.
