Dorothy M. (Zielinski) Salera

Age 86, on October 25, 2014, the world lost an amazing woman. Dorothy died peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family. Dorothy was preceded in death by parents, John and Stella Zielinski; and her loving husband Thomas, who has been up in heaven waiting for her to bring his coffee for 13 years. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Christine Salera (fiance, Brian), daughter, Michelle Stone (Bob); and son, John Scanlon (Lori). Dorothy was proad of all her grandchildren, Donny, Nikki, Brandy, Sherry, Jacky, Justin and her honorary grandchildren, Brian and Mark Zielinski. She especially enjoyed being a loving GiGi to Braydon, Maleya, Vivian and Asher. Dorothy was a mom to many, adored by her nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors and everyone who met her. Dorothy grew up in Oakland and was a longtime resident of Beechview. Dorothy's most recent residence was the Baptist Home in Castle Shannon where she was given the best care and embraced the staff as part of her family as they did her.
