Doniella M. "Donna" Torisky

Age 84, of Scott Twp., on October 29, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Charles A. Torisky, Jr. Dear mother of Charles A. III (Polly) of Pittsburgh, Janice (Tom) Sonson of Washington, PA, and Gary D. (Kathy) Torisky of Duncannon, PA. Loving grandmother of Amy Fox, Nicole Sikora, Christian Sonson, Kris Torisky, Amanda Pierce, Kate & Chaz Torisky and Tom & Jim Dubois. Adored great grandmother of seven. Sister of the late James (surviving wife, Jean) DiTonto. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Bro. Duane Torisky O.F.M. and Donald Torisky also nieces and nephews. Our mother's home was her anchor along with her family and her strong faith in God. The home she made for us was a welcome harbor for one and all. She thoroughly enjoyed planning family holiday/get togethers and each one was unique in her special brand of hospitality. Everyone was welcome; no one a stranger and joy, laughter, good food and lively and at times animated conversation were hallmarks of her life. She and our father were life-long members of Our Lady of Grace Church and strong supporters of the annual weekly carnival at OLG each summer. They were also tireless members of the St. Vincent DePaul Society to which they gave many hours of selfless service to the less fortunate in the Pittsburgh area. She loved pets and the beach, wine coolers and hearty laughter and always had a spirit of adventure. She doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren each and every one. She could with a look, a wink or a twitch convey volumes and all of us reveled in her zest for life. She could be irreverent and profound, and had a great gift of compassion for every person who came into her life. Her empathy was one of her legendary God given gifts which she shared with everyone she met. Like the ideal wife/mother in Proverbs, whose family took delight in her virtuous life and many talents, Donna carries with her into Eternity the loving life she gave in her service to others along the way.
