Age 84, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Don was the devoted husband for 47 years to Barbara (Paulmeier) Tate, son of the late Albert and Mary (Long) Tate, beloved brother of Salvatore, Mark, Susanne Sciacchitano, David, Mary Lou Downing and the late Albert Tate, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Don retired from Mellon Bank as a Trust Officer. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at 11am in St. John Capistran Church, 1610 McMillan Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241. Interment immediately following in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 50 Moffett Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
