SVITKO DONALD J. Of Mt. Washington, formerly of Ruffsdale, PA. Peacefully on Fri. , Aug. 8, 2014, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Arlene Svitko for 18 years; proud father of Jennifer Svitko; dear brother of the late William Svitko; stepfather of Judy, Michael Masucci, Darlene (John) Shaffer, and Michelle Masucci-Bates; step-grandfather of seven; step-great-grandfather of one; special uncle of many nieces and nephews. Don had numerous cherished friends. He was well-known for his green thumb and leaves behind a beautiful garden and fish pond. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and animals, especially his dog, Peggy, and his bird, Jasper. Don enjoyed fixing things and tinkering with technology. He was a veteran who proudly served in the Army. He was a hard worker and his career included employment at Volkswagen and Elliott Co. Don will be remembered fondly by all who knew him and will be sorely missed by friends and family.
