Dennis Geis, Sr., died on June 14, 2021, after a long battle with cancer. He is the son of the late Leo and Dorothy Geis. He is preceded in death by Nancy, his wife of 53 ½ years, and survived by his sons, D.J. (Sheri) and Jim (Jenny). He is the loving grandfather ("Pap Pap") of Leo, Jacob, Owen, Miriam, Michaela, and the late Noah.
Denny was raised in Dormont and graduated from Dormont High School in 1962. He went on to Penn Technical Institute, then worked for RCA for over 20 years as a machinist. He later became the owner of Allegheny Cleaners, which he operated for 15 years.
Denny could fix or build anything—from a new bathroom, family room and deck, to a pontoon boat, and even a swing set for his grandchildren. In 1970, Denny and Nancy, with the help of family and friends, built their beloved summer cottage along the Allegheny River in Althom, PA. He liked to fish, hunt, snowmobile, and spend time on the river. He especially enjoyed the many picnics and dinners with family and friends. After retirement, Denny and Nancy spent most of their summers at the cottage. Denny enjoyed many evenings out on his boat, fishing with his loyal golden retriever, Andy. And just like old retired people do, Denny and Nancy would sit around and think of projects for their kids to do!
