Age 78, of Pittsburgh, on Saturday, June 13, 2026. Beloved husband of Ruth (Altvater) Downing. Dear father of Timothy “Tad” (Heather) Downing. Step father of Frank McDonough, Edward McDonough, David (Theresa) McDonough, Karen (Scott) Hobson, Kimberly (Bruce) Blank, and Debbie McDonough. Also 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother of John (Karen) Downing and the late Roy (Dorothy) Downing. Dave was an Air Force Vietnam Veteran and he worked for over 30 years with CONSOL Energy. Dave was raised in New Martinsville, WV, where he has many childhood friends.
