Age 61, of Presto, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Loving husband of 32 years of Patricia E. (Stouges) Hartman; devoted son of the late Earl R. and Jane (MacKay) Hartman; beloved brother of David (Laurie) Hartman, Lynn Tucak (Curt), Dean Hartman (Edie), and the late Darrell Hartman; brother-in-law of Charlotte Mistick; uncle to David Hartman (Michelle), Susan Kjos (Casey), Curtis Tucak (Alyssa), and Sam and Faith Hartman; and great-uncle of Scarlett, Evelyn, and Davis Hartman, and Baylor, Asher, Elle, and Lettie Kjos. Darren loved Pitt Football and Baseball. He was an avid golfer and was a member at Nevillewood Country Club for 25 years. Darren was a buddy with the Pirates Miracle League. He spent most of his career as a Supply Chain executive, was a featured speaker at many conferences, and was an adjunct professor at Duquesne University. Above everything, Darren loved spending time with family and friends.
Darren’s most recent passion was being a permanent substitute teacher at Chartiers Valley Middle School. It brought him tremendous joy to have an impact on young students.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Tuesday, March 7 at 10 AM in Christ Church at Grove Farm, 249 Duff Road, Sewickley, PA 15143, 412-741-4900. Interment will be private to the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516, or to Animal Friends, 562 Camp Horne Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
